David Leatherwood is a Florida native who grew up in a farmhouse on an orange grove in Tampa. He graduated from the world-renowned Film School at FSU in Tallahassee and had a successful career in Hollywood before leaving the woke insanity of California. In 2014, he returned to his home state of Florida, this time moving across the bridge to sunny St. Petersburg to establish his forever home.

In 2016 Leatherwood was inspired to become active in contemporary politics as an outspoken, unapologetic patriot. In early 2018, he founded a patriotic social media platform and became a viral sensation in the America First meme wars on the internet. And in 2020, he was fired from his job for it.

After the story of his wrongful termination became national news, inspiring millions of patriots across the nation, Leatherwood began working in politics full-time. He fused his entertainment experience with his passion for patriotism to become a prolific political media producer in the conservative movement, writing and producing content to advance the America First agenda in the US.

In 2020, Leatherwood was honored to be recruited to serve in official capacity on the Trump campaign. He has writing and producing credits with political powerhouses such as Melania Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Ric Grenell, Kari Lake, Madison Cawthorn, Cory Mills, Myra Flores and Pinellas County superstar, Representative Anna Paulina Luna. 

In 2022 he was inducted into the prestigious 1865 Society by the Young Republicans, alongside outstanding patriots such as JD Vance and Blake Masters.

In 2023 Leatherwood was proud to testify before the Florida State Legislature to Ban Gender Affirming Care for Minors, which resulted in the passing of legislation to protect children from genital mutilation and sterilization here in the state of Florida.

Over the past decade, Leatherwood has taken an active role as a leader in transforming Tampa Bay into a central hub of the conservative movement today, and he will continue to do so on the Board of County Commissioners in Pinellas. His strong allies at the state and national levels will give him the ability to provide a unique advantage to local leadership which will benefit Pinellas County residents and ensure our voices are heard and our needs are met.
